Job summary

Republic Services is offering a Driver Trainee program in Greenville, SC. You will be trained to obtain a CDL and then assume a Driver role across residential, commercial, industrial or roll-off lines.

The program includes classroom work, on-road training, and resources to pass the CDL exam. Upon CDL completion, you will complete twelve months of employment and transition to driving duties within the chosen business line.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial driver’s license.
• Willing to complete Republic Services CDL training to obtain CDL.

Responsibilities

• Successfully complete Republic Services’ CDL training program, including classroom study, on-route training, driving experience, and access to a truck to take the CDL exam.
• Complete twelve months of employment after obtaining a CDL.
• Learn to perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues.
• Learn to safely operate a heavy or commercial truck on designated routes and service customers as assigned.
• Learn to operate manual and/or automatic controls to load refuse and dispose of materials.
• Learn to identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers per procedures.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable items and maintain vehicle readiness.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Post-CDL, perform Driver duties in one of the company lines of business.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
