Job summary

Republic Services, Morganton, NC, is seeking a Driver Trainee who will be trained to obtain a CDL and advance to a Driver across Residential, Commercial, Industrial or Roll-Off services. The program includes classroom study, on-road training and access to a loaner truck.

After earning a CDL, you will complete a 12-month employment period, perform vehicle inspections, follow safety policies, read route sheets, load and dispose of waste, and support customers on assigned routes.

Qualifications

• No prohibitions to acquiring a commercial drivers’ license.
• Willing to complete Republic Services CDL training program to obtain a CDL.
• Must complete twelve (12) full months of employment after obtaining a CDL.

Responsibilities

• Complete CDL training program including classroom study and on-road training.
• Complete 12 months of employment after obtaining a CDL.
• Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections.
• Safely operate a heavy or commercial truck on designated routes.
• Tag unsatisfactory waste containers and monitor waste for hazards.
