Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a LifeWise CDL bus driver to provide safe transport for students and volunteers. The role requires a CDL with passenger endorsement, a clean driving record, and successful background and FMCSA checks. Responsibilities include bus maintenance, safety enforcement, and potential classroom volunteering with approval. You must comply with LifeWise Academy training and policies.

Qualifications

• Mature Christian faith aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• Active church involvement aligned with LifeWise Statement of Faith.
• CDL license with passenger vehicle endorsement (P) required.
• School bus endorsement preferred.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents in 5 years.
• Background check and FMCSA Clearinghouse clearance.
• Drug/alcohol testing as required.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site
• Obey traffic laws
• Maintain the cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus
• Perform regular inspections of the bus
• Refuel the vehicle as needed
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children
• Enforce safety rules for students
• Assist students with entering or exiting the vehicle as needed
• Demonstrate a calm and caring demeanor
• Be aware of which students need help or are misbehaving
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed upon with the director
