Job summary

GFL is seeking a professional CDL driver to operate residential/recycling collection trucks on assigned routes. You will load waste and recyclables, perform pre/post-trip inspections, and maintain route quality while adhering to safety guidelines.

The role requires a valid Commercial Driver's License, at least one year of driving experience, and a strong emphasis on safety and customer service. Overtime may be required on occasion and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED desired.
• Must possess a Commercial Driver's License.
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection truck on specified routes.
• Load waste, yard waste, and recyclables into truck.
• Operate equipment to compact trash.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and complete reports.
• Communicate mechanical issues to supervisor and maintenance staff.
• Maintain route quality and comply with safety policies.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and fuel/equipment records.
• Identify prohibited waste items and tag/remove them as needed.
• Oversee assigned helpers and coordinate with supervisor to improve routing.
