Job summary

GFL is seeking a dedicated Residential Driver to safely collect waste and recyclables on curbside or backdoor routes. You will operate residential trucks, load materials, and ensure timely service while maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety standards.

The role demands CDL eligibility, driving experience, good communication with customers, and strict adherence to safety policies. Overtime may be required, with training and branch support provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to safely drive and operate the truck and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection trucks on assigned routes.
• Load waste/recyclables into truck and operate compactor equipment.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain records.
• Communicate mechanical issues to supervisor or mechanic promptly.
• Maintain route quality and comply with safety and company policies.
• Attend safety meetings and support branch initiatives.
