Job summary

Waste Pro in Covington, LA is hiring energetic CDL drivers for immediate openings. Roll-off drivers deliver and unload large containers for our commercial customers, operating reliable waste collection equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates must hold a valid Class A or B CDL, have a clean driving record, be at least 21, and be able to perform pre- and post-trip inspections and basic vehicle checks.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state in which the position works.
• Clean driving record required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices; understanding of Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
• Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and supervisors, understand highway and traffic signals, and be able to make legible entries on paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Secure containers and operate lift equipment to load containers.
• Provide courteous customer service and represent Waste Pro at all times.
• Answer questions and direct customers to appropriate staff for information.
• Operate compaction and lift equipment on the vehicle.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and complete safety log entries.
• Keep truck clean and perform routine washdowns.
