Job summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a Roll-Off Driver to operate heavy-duty roll-off trucks on local Durham routes. You will safely transport containers, maintain professional customer relations, and support efficient service across the community.

This full-time role emphasizes safety and reliability, with local nighttime or daytime schedules, competitive benefits, and opportunities for overtime. CDL is required; prior driving experience or completion of a CDL program is welcome.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B with a clean driving record.
• At least 1 year of commercial driving experience or completion of an accredited CDL school program.
• Commitment to safety and vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport and haul commercial roll-off containers to and from customer sites across the Durham area.
• Operate roll-off trucks and hydraulic equipment with precision and care.
• Be the face of GFL by providing professional, courteous service on every run.
• Complete daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure truck is in top condition.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and mechanics to keep routes running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Master the Route: Safely transport and haul commercial roll-off containers to and from customer sites across the Durham area.

What We're Looking For

• Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Experience: 1+ years of commercial driving experience or completion of an accredited CDL school program.
• Safety Mindset: A proactive commitment to safety, equipment maintenance, and local transit rules.
• Physical Capability: Ability to handle physical requirements of the job (lifting, climbing into cabs/containers, working outdoors).
