Job summary

Utah Transit Authority seeks apprentices to complete a four-year competency-based program including electrical, brakes, air systems, HVAC/EAC, wheelchairs, transmissions and engines. You will perform tasks under supervision and support senior technicians in complex repairs, with testing and training required.

Qualified candidates must be 18+, have Class B CDL with passenger endorsement or acquire it within 60 days, and meet the driving, testing, and education criteria.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and eligible for apprenticeship.
• Must have valid Class B CDL with passenger endorsement or able to acquire within 60 days.
• Able to pass aptitude and standardized tests with UTA time for testing.
• The job requires the required tools and a safe driving record with limited violations.
• Accompanying education/experience options satisfy one of several pathways.

Responsibilities

• Participate in competency-based instruction and complete required modules.
• Assist advanced-skill employees in complex repairs and component rebuilds.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and related repairs.
• Attend training and adhere to union collective bargaining terms.
