Job summary

Complete Coach Works is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, rebuild, and overhaul transit buses and related equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, safety and DOT inspections, and diagnose malfunctions from job orders and on-vehicle observations.

Requirements include a valid driver's license with willingness to obtain a CDL; 4+ years of mechanical experience (training can substitute for experience) and your own tools.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license; willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
• Minimum of 4 years mechanical experience, with 1 year of related training substituting for a year.
• Must have own tools and tool box.
• Able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Experience with Detroit Diesel 6v92 & 50 series is a plus.
• Diagnostic experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and overhaul transit buses and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and DOT inspections.
• Read job orders and diagnose malfunctions by listening to vehicles in operation.
• Inspect and service braking, suspension, drivetrains, HVAC, and other systems.
• Enter work orders into computer systems and maintain a clean work area.
