Job summary

Utah Transit Authority is offering an Apprentice Program for maintenance technicians. Trainees complete competency modules in electrical, brakes, HVAC, wheels, transmissions, engines, and more, while performing supervised tasks and assisting advanced technicians.

Earn $27.13 to $31.13 per hour plus $1.00-$1.50 shift differential; top rate $36.82 after graduation. Shift is 3:00 pm to 1:30 am with Tue/Wed/Thu off. UTA provides a full benefits package and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must have a current or able to acquire Class B CDL with passenger endorsement within 60 days.
• Aptitude and standardized tests required as part of the program.
• Be a safe driver with limited moving violations in past 3 years.
• Have no DUI or related violations in last 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Participates in related technical instruction and attends classroom instruction as required and passes written tests.
• Performs manual tasks under supervision as needed and assists advance-skill employees in complex repairs and component rebuilds.
• Participates in preventative maintenance inspections and associated repairs.
