Job summary

Luna Community College seeks a CDL Program Director to lead the CDL and Heavy Equipment training programs within Workforce Development. You will oversee curriculum, instruction, and testing, while ensuring DOT/FMCSA ELDT and NM DMV compliance.

You will supervise instructors, coordinators, and staff, develop partnerships with industry and agencies, and drive grant opportunities to advance statewide workforce initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of CDL/heavy equipment training experience.
• Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/administrative management experience.
• Valid NM Class A CDL and ability to obtain CDL Examiner Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for CDL and Heavy Equipment programs.
• Supervise CDL instructors, examiners, and program staff; manage schedules.
• Ensure DOT/FMCSA ELDT and NM DMV compliance and reporting.
• Develop and modernize curricula with hands-on and simulator training.
• Oversee testing operations and maintain compliant testing facilities.
• Foster partnerships with employers, agencies, and workforce boards.
