Job summary

Luna Community College seeks a CDL Program Director to lead CDL and Heavy Equipment training across main and satellite sites in New Mexico. You will shape curricula, supervise instructors and examiners, ensure ELDT compliance, and collaborate with regulators and industry partners.

You will also manage testing operations, drive strategic initiatives, and oversee budget and grant opportunities to advance workforce development statewide.

Qualifications

• Valid NM Class A CDL with clean driving record.
• Must hold or obtain NM DMV CDL Examiner certification.
• Minimum 5 years CDL/heavy equipment training experience.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory/administrative experience.
• Willingness to travel within NM.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational oversight for CDL and related workforce development programs.
• Supervise CDL instructors, certified CDL Examiners, and the CDL Program Manager.
• Ensure DOT/FMCSA ELDT and NM DMV compliance.
• Develop and modernize CDL/Heavy Equipment curricula with simulators and fieldwork.
• Oversee testing operations and state testing compliance.
• Foster partnerships with industry, government agencies, and workforce boards for job placements.
• Prepare and manage program budgets and reporting.
