Job summary

Commonwealth Of Pennsylvania is seeking a PennDOT CDL Operator in Sullivan County. The role supports highway and bridge maintenance, operating trucks and construction equipment, and maintaining CDL credentials to support daily operations.

The position runs on a 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM schedule, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Overtime, travel, and seasonality may affect hours; telework is not available. Starting salary ranges from $45,888 to $54,162 annually, before taxes.

Qualifications

• CDL with Air Brake Restriction (L) removed is required.
• Active PA Class A or B CDL with no E restriction is required.
• Graduation from CDL training school or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks, loaders, and construction equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain CDL credentials and complete required certifications and daily equipment checks.
• Perform flagger duties to ensure safe movement of motorists during work operations.
• Use tools to perform maintenance like cleaning culverts, cutting brush, repairing guiderails, and digging ditches.
• Make equipment adjustments, perform minor repairs, and demonstrate proper use to coworkers.
• Follow safety procedures, report incidents, recognize hazards, and wear protective equipment.
