Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, through PennDOT in Bucks County, is hiring a CDL Operator Trainee to learn equipment operation and support highway and bridge projects. You will train on heavy trucks, loaders, and maintenance tools while following safety procedures and performing manual tasks alongside maintenance crews.

Full-time role with 7:00 AM–3:00 PM hours, no telework option. Starting salary is $42,347 per year, with opportunities to advance as you gain experience and complete required

Qualifications

• Active Driver's License (Class C) required on first day.
• Active PA CDL Learner's Permit (Class A or B) on first day.
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate required on first day.

Responsibilities

• Train to operate heavy trucks, loaders and other equipment with safety checks.
• Use hand tools and motorized tools during maintenance work.
• Follow safety procedures and report hazards or injuries.
• Assist crews with manual labor tasks for highway/bridge maintenance.
• Carry out environmental protection steps related to maintenance activities.
