Qualifications

• CDL Class A or B valid for the state where the position works.
• Minimum 1 year of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL within the past 7 years.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and DOT requirements for commercial motor vehicles.
• Must be able to read and write English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives truck on pre-established routes and collects garbage and recyclables.
• Oversees helpers on the route and performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Ensures proper loading, tagging of improper containers and safe disposal at landfill or transfer station.
• Completes safety inspections and DVIR per Waste Pro guidelines and DOT rules.
• Maintains a clean truck and performs equipment checks and routine maintenance as needed.
• Prepares, maintains and submits required reports and documents.
