Job summary

The City of Foley seeks a CDL driver to operate front-load garbage trucks on assigned routes under general supervision, acting as a lead with other crew members. The role includes knuckle boom loader operation and dumpster delivery/replacement.

Responsibilities include vehicle maintenance using drills, grease guns, pressure washers, and air chucks; reviewing tickets and schedules; and logging maintenance and addresses. CDL required; high school diploma and two years related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Class A or B CDL Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Drives and operates front-load garbage trucks on designated routes.
• Drives and operates knuckle boom loader for landfill collection.
• Delivers dumpsters to new customers and replaces old ones.
• Uses tools such as a power drill, grease gun, pressure washer and air chucks for vehicle maintenance.
• Reviews information such as call tickets, instructions, route schedules, maps and regulations.
• Assembles dumpsters for delivery and attaches lock bars to commercial dumpsters.
• Prepares logs of addresses and maintenance performed on trucks.
• Interacts with the public, supervisors, fellow employees, office staff and landfill personnel.
• Operates front-load, knuckle boom, flatbed and pickup trucks.
