Job summary

Ada County Highway District is hiring a General Equipment Operator for the Adams Utility Crew in the Maintenance division. The full-time, non-exempt role offers a starting wage of $23.80–$26.20 per hour, depending on DOQ.

The position involves operating light- to heavy-duty maintenance equipment, performing skilled labor, and supporting a range of tasks from ditch cleaning to pipe laying. Winter response and occasional after-hours work are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction and concrete work such as setting forms and finishing curbs and sidewalks.
• Must have Idaho Class A CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment; tanker endorsement within 30 days.
• Experience operating a 10-wheel dump truck; plow or sander/anti-icing unit is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate light- to heavy-duty maintenance equipment under supervision.
• Perform tasks from cleaning ditches, fixing cave-ins, to laying pipe and installing concrete.
• Respond to winter weather conditions and emergencies, possibly outside normal hours.
