Job summary

Waste Pro in Lafayette, LA is seeking energetic CDL drivers to operate in a team oriented environment delivering and emptying waste containers for commercial customers. You will perform pre/post trip inspections, secure loads, and provide courteous service during daily routes.

Qualified candidates have a valid Class A or B CDL, a clean driving record, and are 21 years or older. English communication and safety compliance are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class A or B CDL valid for the state; clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices; understanding of DOT requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
• Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction; See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
• Understand and carry out oral and written instructions;
• Maintain written records and service responses.
• Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and supervisors, understand highway and traffic signals, and make legible entries on paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Secure containers by attaching hook to container; pull container up on the bed of the truck and secure straps.
• Provide Distinguishably Different level of service through courteous and expeditious customer service.
• Answer questions for customers and direct them to contact Customer Service or Sales Representative.
• Operate compaction and lift equipment on vehicle.
• Perform Daily Pre and Post Trip inspections as per Waste Pro procedures.
