Job summary

Brown Foodservice, Inc. CDL Driver Training Program prepares, trains, and develops potential drivers with the knowledge and skills required to pass the state skills test and obtain a class "A" CDL.

Once a trainee has obtained the CDL, Brown Foodservice Driver Training Program provides trainees with a qualified trainer to assist the trainee in his or her professional development. During the training period, the trainee improves driving skills and aquires the knowledge to be a successful

Qualifications

• Must learn and adhere to DOT and FMCSA regulations.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, and bend to perform duties.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Strong communication with management, drivers, sales, and customers.
• Ability to learn new applications and proprietary software.
• Basic math skills required.
• Self-motivated and customer-focused.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer and deliver products on assigned routes.
• Maintain accuracy of delivered product with no damage.
• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip.
• Maintain electronic driver log per DOT regulations.
• Communicate issues to Senior Transportation Supervisor.
• Complete transportation paperwork efficiently.
