Job summary

Brown Foodservice, Inc. CDL Driver Training Program prepares, trains, and develops potential drivers with the knowledge and skills required to pass the state skills test and obtain a class "A" CDL.

Trainees work with a qualified trainer to assist in professional development while improving driving skills at our Sophia, WV shuttle point, a team with a long history of serving customers since 1942. Starting pay is $13.75 per hour pre-permit and $14.75 per hour after permit, with duties including

Qualifications

• Must learn and adhere to Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop to accomplish the essential job functions.
• Ability to perform repetitive lifting of 50 lbs.
• Have strong communication skills with ability to communicate with management team, drivers, sales, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor-trailer and deliver products.
• Dispose/comply with DOT regulations and general traffic laws.
• Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip.
• Maintain electronic driver log per DOT regulations.
• Communicate delivery or pickup instructions to supervisor.
• Maintain professional appearance and conduct per company standards.
