Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is seeking a Residential Rear Load Driver in Topeka, KS. You will operate a rear-load/recycling collection truck, load waste, and maintain routes with emphasis on safety and customer service.

The role requires a CDL (or CDL school completion), a high school diploma or GED, and at least 1 year of driving experience. You may work overtime and will report safety concerns promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED desired.
• Commercial Driver’s License required or CDL school certificate.
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience or CDL training.
• Ability to meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to safely drive truck and operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate residential/recycling collection truck to collect solid waste/recyclables on route.
• Load waste into rear or side of waste collection vehicle.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain route sheets.
• Communicate vehicle issues to supervisor or mechanic promptly.
• Maintain route quality and adhere to safety standards.
• May supervise assigned helper and assist with routing improvements.
• Attend safety/branch meetings and perform other duties as required.
