Job summary

New Way Trucks in Scranton, IA is seeking a CDL Driver/Material Handler to join our manufacturing team. You will load and unload fabricated parts, transport to and from vendors, and help move materials around the plant.

This role requires a Class A CDL (or ability to obtain) and about 1 year of driving experience. You will verify loads, secure cargo, and coordinate with the Logistics Coordinator to ensure on-time deliveries.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL or ability to obtain one.
• Minimum 1 year driving experience.
• Ability to pass background check.
• Able to follow applicable traffic laws and safety procedures.
• Read and understand documents, orders, and pick lists.

Responsibilities

Currently we are seeking a CDL Driver/Material Handler to join our team and be an essential part of our Scranton, Iowa manufacturing team. This position is responsible for the loading, unloading, and transportation of fabricated parts and subassemblies to and from outsourced vendors.

Your Role in Our Mission:

• Loading and unloading trailer using forklift or crane.
• Securing the load using straps and chains.
• Driving safely to and from outsource vendors.
• Communicating and Coordinating with Logistics Coordinator.
• Verifying load for accuracy and completeness.
• Helping move materials throughout the plant in between deliveries.

To Perform this Job Successfully:

• Class A CDL or ability to obtain Class A CDL.
• 1 year(s) driving experience preferred.
• Ability to pass background check.
• Obeying and following applicable traffic laws.
• Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it on the trailer.
• Preforming pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting any mechanical issues before driving.
• Read and understand documents, orders, and pick lists.
