Job summary

New Way Trucks in Scranton, IA is hiring a CDL Driver/Material Handler to load, unload, and transport fabricated parts to vendor sites. You will operate a forklift or crane, secure cargo, and move materials around the plant as needed.

The role requires a Class A CDL (or ability to obtain one) and about one year of driving experience. Safety, reliability, and teamwork are essential.

Currently we are seeking aCDL Driver/Material Handlerto join our team and be an essential part of ourScranton, Iowamanufacturing team. This position is responsible for the loading, unloading, and transportation of fabricated parts and subassemblies to and from outsourced vendors.

Your Role in Our Mission:

• Loading and unloading trailer using forklift or crane.
• Securing the load using straps and chains.
• Driving safely to and from outsource vendors.
• Communicating and Coordinating with Logistics Coordinator.
• Verifying load for accuracy and completeness.
• Helping move materials throughout the plant in between deliveries.

To Perform this Job Successfully:

• Class A CDL or ability to obtain Class A CDL.
• 1 year(s) driving experience preferred.
• Ability to pass background check.
• Obeying and following applicable traffic laws.
• Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it on the trailer.
• Preforming pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting any mechanical issues before driving.
• Read and understand documents, orders, and pick lists.
