Job summary

Hines is seeking a CDL Driver I to safely transport materials to job sites and other locations in Illinois, with occasional inter-state travel. The role requires a Class A or B license, pre/post-trip inspections, and DOT log management.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, customer interactions, and maintaining vehicle safety and compliance with federal regulations. This position supports warehouse tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years CDL experience preferred; basic CDL with flat beds/tractor trailers.
• Experience transporting lumber and building materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate Class A or B commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Deliver to active construction sites and completed locations; may involve inter-state travel.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and manage DOT logs.
• Provide professional customer service and relay messages at job sites.
• Load, unload, and secure loads; verify orders before departure and on delivery.
• Maintain DOT compliance and adherence to HOS regulations.
• Operate a truck-mounted forklift for loading/unloading materials.
• Keep truck clean and organized; assist in warehouse inventory where needed.
