Job summary

PODS Enterprises, LLC is seeking a Delivery Driver/Operator to perform delivery and pickup of containers at customer sites. You will operate a commercial truck, inspect equipment, and maintain safety and customer rapport.

Responsibilities include using a handheld device for verification, loading/unloading with a lift, coordinating paperwork, and supporting storage center operations as needed. Must have CDL-B, clean record, and pass training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• CDL Class B License without air brake restriction
• Valid driver license and PODS Driver Qualification Standards
• Minimum 21 years old for insurance
• DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain
• Experience with electronic equipment and software preferred
• Strong math skills for duties
• Equivalent education/training acceptable
• Ability to attend 2-week New Hire Driver Training

Responsibilities

• Delivery and pickup of containers to customer locations.
• Operate commercial truck with lift mechanism safely.
• Perform and log pre/post trip inspections.
• Accept add-on deliveries as needed.
• Use handheld computer for verification and navigation.
• Operate forklift and/or overhead crane.
• Maintain truck and containers presentable for delivery.
• Coordinate rental paperwork and payment with customer.
• Communicate with supervision on questions/issues; prepare driver notes.
• Perform container and lift repairs in the field and at storage center.
• Provide backup for storage center functions when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of truck cab interior and exterior.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Responsible for delivery and pickup of containers to and/or from customer locations; provide an effective and incident free delivery or pickup of a container while maintaining excellent rapport with the customer.

• Drive and operate a commercial truck with a patented lift mechanism to load and unload containers at customer sites in a safe manner by following all safety rules
• Perform and log daily pre and post trip inspections of commercial vehicle and lift
• Accept add-on deliveries as required to meet business needs
• Use company handheld computer for delivery verification and navigation
• Operate a forklift and/or an overhead crane
• Clean and inspect containers to ensure they are presentable for delivery to customer
• Coordinate rental paperwork and payment with the customer
• Communicate with the Driver Lead or Market Manager on customer questions and/or issues; Prepare driver notes as needed
• Perform repairs of containers and lifts in the field and at the storage center
• Provide backup for storage center functions when needed
• Maintain cleanliness of truck cab (keep free from debris inside and outside)
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Pay Rate: $23.00 per hour

MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES

• Typically reports to Management. Direct supervisor job title(s) typically include: Market Manager, Territory Manager
• Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management)

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid CDL Class B License Required without air brake restriction
• Must maintain a current/valid driver license
• Must meet PODS Driver Qualification Standards
• Must be at least 21 years of age (insurance requirement)
• Possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or ability to obtain a minimum of a 1 year certification (DOT requirement)
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software preferred
• Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience
• Ability to attend required 2-week New Hire Driver Training Program
