Job summary

Waste Management is hiring CDL drivers for a range of service lines. You will operate heavy-duty trucks, transport waste or recyclables to disposal or transfer facilities, and perform backings in various environments.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and customer interactions in a heavy-traffic setting. The position requires CDL A or B with air-brake endorsement, at least 18 years old, and the ability to pass a drug screen and physical.

Qualifications

• 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located.
• Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to interact with the public, understand traffic signs, and complete records or reports.
• Pre-employment screening, including drug screen and physical.
• CDL Class A with an air-brake endorsement or CDL Class B with an air-brake endorsement.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle in accordance with Waste Management safety rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and all laws.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and documents checks.
• Reports unsafe situations or service-related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch.
• Attends scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required.
• Works with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices.
• Notifies Operations Manager of incidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Notifies Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions and safety hazards.
• Completes end-of-day documentation and check-out process.
