Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. in Wisconsin seeks a CDL driver to operate a roll-off truck and related equipment. You will perform pre/post-trip inspections, report mechanical issues, and maintain route quality while adhering to safety standards and company rules.

Occasional overtime may be required, and a strong emphasis is placed on professionalism and accurate record-keeping. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid CDL, and at least 1 year of commercial driving experience or CDL

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or desired.
• Must possess a valid CDL.
• Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience or CDL school certificate.
• Must meet safety-sensitive criteria per company standards.
• Ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate roll-off truck and ancillary equipment to collect waste.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and reports daily.
• Communicate vehicle mechanical problems to mechanic and supervisor immediately.
• Maintain route quality standards as determined by management.
• Operate truck using prescribed techniques to prevent driver-induced failures.
• Follow all safety standards, checks and precautions in duties.
• Comply with all safety and company rules on operation.
• Report potential hazards to Supervisor/Lead before tasks.
• Keep vehicle clean inside and outside.
• Report accidents or incidents to supervisors immediately.
• Maintain professional demeanor and appearance on route or in uniform.
• Wear required PPE at all times (gloves, vest, glasses, boots).
• Maintain accurate service records.
• Collaborate with supervisor to improve routing efficiency.
• Attend safety and branch meetings.
• Overtime may be required.
• Perform other duties as required by management.
