Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. seeks a Swing Driver in Wisconsin to safely operate Front End, Roll Off, Residential and other trucks and to service customers efficiently. The role may include various routes with pay of $27/hour.

The driver will complete pre-trip/post-trip inspections, document route sheets, and report any mechanical issues immediately. CDL is required and safety compliance is essential to every shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED desired.
• Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License.
• Minimum one year of commercial driving experience OR CDL school certificate.
• Must be able to meet safety sensitive functions according to Company standards.
• Must be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate one or more vehicle types with both automatic and standard transmission and collect solid waste, yard waste and/or recyclables on a collection route.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections and reports, daily truck report, route sheets and other documentation requested by supervisor daily.
• Communicate vehicle mechanical problems to mechanic and supervisor immediately.
• Operate truck and equipment using prescribed techniques to eliminate driver-induced mechanical failures.
• Follow all safety standards, equipment checks and precautions in performance of all duties; comply with all safety and vehicle operation rules.
• Maintain clean vehicle by cleaning cab interior and exterior.
• Manage assigned Helper(s) if applicable.
• Adhere to laws, company policies, and directives from supervisors.
• W ear required PPE at all times (gloves, reflective vest, safety glasses, boots).
• Report all accidents or incidents to supervisor immediately.
• Demonstrate a professional demeanor and appearance while on route or in uniform.
• Maintain accurate records of services performed.
• Perform extra or special pick-ups.
• May assist with training other Drivers.
