Qualifications

• Must hold a class A CDL or CLP before entering job classification.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record per hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under 49 CFR 391.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds repeatedly and work in varied conditions.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete training.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dolly connections to tractors or trailers.
• Move freight using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Interact with Dispatch regarding delays, arrivals and equipment issues.
• Seek additional business and pass leads to sales.
