FedEx Freight is seeking a driver associate to operate tractor-trailers and perform related non-driving duties such as forklift work and dock operations. The role requires a valid CDL, a clean MVR, and compliance with DOT regulations while handling freight and documenting activities.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or a commercial learning permit (CLP) prior to entering job classification.
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) based on hiring standards.
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under section 391 of the FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds several times a day.
• Ability to work independently and/or as a team member.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles and/or straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Perform freight handling using forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch regarding delays, arrivals, equipment problems.
• Demonstrate internal and external customer service.
• Assist customers with pick-up or delivery needs and seek additional business leads.
• May perform road driver or freight handler duties as needed.
