Job summary

FedEx Freight in Wisconsin is seeking a professional to operate tractor-trailer combinations and perform pre-trip, post-trip, and inter-trip safety inspections, along with dock duties.

You will handle freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, secure loads, and communicate with Dispatch to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and incidents. You may also perform road driver duties when required by operations.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL or CLP prior to entering job classification.
• MVR acceptable based on hiring standards.
• Must meet DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations.
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds several times a day.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer including doubles/straight trucks.
• Perform pre-trip/post-trip/inter-trip safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dolly connections.
• Handle freight with forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Secure freight with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with Dispatch about delays, arrivals, or problems.
• Provide customer service and determine pickup/delivery needs.
• May perform road driver or freight handler duties as needed.
• Chain vehicle tires and comply with regulations.
