Job summary

STAR LUMBER & SUPPLY CO., INC is seeking a safety-focused CDL Class A and/or Class B Delivery Driver to transport and deliver building materials to customer jobsites and company locations. You will represent the company, maintain timely deliveries, and adhere to DOT regulations and safety standards.

The role requires operating various trailers and trucks, loading/unloading assistance, and strong customer service in a fast-paced construction environment.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or Class B license.
• Current DOT Medical Certificate.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers, truck-mounted forklifts, curtain-side trailers, flatbeds and Class B straight trucks as assigned.
• Deliver building materials to residential and commercial construction sites.
• Verify loads for accuracy before departure and confirm deliveries with customers.
• Secure cargo using proper load securement techniques and DOT requirements.
• Conduct pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required documentation.
• Maintain electronic logs, inspection reports, fuel records, and delivery paperwork.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, yard personnel, customers, and sales teams.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials when required.
• Inspect delivered products for damage and report shortages or discrepancies.
• Operate equipment safely around jobsites, customers, and company facilities.
• Follow all company safety policies, DOT regulations, and Hours-of-Service requirements.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance of assigned equipment.
• Participate in safety meetings and ongoing driver training programs.
• Perform shuttle, transfer, and backhaul assignments between Star Lumber locations as needed.
