Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking a Compliance Auditor to join the CDL Compliance Unit at SCDMV Headquarters in Blythewood. The role oversees audits and inspections to verify CDL-related compliance across multiple counties, conducts investigations, and interfaces with schools, testers, and the public.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma (bachelor's degree preferred or substituted), strong investigative skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree may substitute for required experience.
• Strong ability to investigate, analyze facts, and present clear reports.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains a current list of assigned entities and conducts audits/inspections for compliance.
• Investigates complaints involving CDL training schools and third-party testers; may coordinate with SLED or other agencies.
• Educates owners and officials on program requirements and responds to inquiries from schools, testers, the public, and agencies.
• Conducts inspections of driver training schools, applicants, VIN and vehicle inspections, and administers tests for Driver Training Instructor Certification.
• Performs administrative duties and travels as needed within the assigned work area.
