Job summary

Ryder in Springfield, MA is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team. Local home daily, 7:00 AM start, Monday to Friday, with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits after 30 days. Trucks are newer, with 800+ maintenance facilities nationwide for roadside support.

You will shuttle equipment between Ryder customer facilities with no-touch freight and participate in safety-driven operations backed by strong company support and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass Ryder drug test.
• Must pass Ryder background, MVR checks, and verifications for last 3 years.
• DOT physical requirement.
• Must have Class A CDL with endorsements.
• Experience: 9 months in past 3 years or 2 years in last 5 years or 5 years in last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle and comply with safety and DOT regulations.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Support safety and customer service tasks.

All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities

• Route: Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities
• Freight:No Touch - Empty Trailers for Equipment Shuttle Transfer Movement

Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and Company Drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
  • 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
