Job summary

OmniSource is seeking a reliable Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team and keep operations running smoothly. You will drive a diesel-powered truck and trailer to pick up, transport, and deliver scrap metal with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

You will inspect equipment, maintain logs, and coordinate with dispatch to meet schedules while complying with DOT regulations and company standards. Prior scrap or recycling experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid CDL Class A license.
• Pass a Federal DOT drug screen.
• 2 years of tractor/trailer experience or 1 year with school certificate.
• Ability to read/write/interpret English and safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Hook and unhook trailers from tractor.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections and note defects.
• Ensure shipping documents are correct.
• Drive in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
• Maintain logs and daily records for compliance.
• Report accidents and safety hazards promptly.
• Operate end dump/roll-off equipment knowledge.
• Maintain paperwork accuracy for scrap movement.
