Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license and acceptable driving record.
• Current DOT medical certification required.
• LTL/City driving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements.
• Ability to safely operate tractor-trailers and complete logs accurately.
• Strong customer service, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to safety, cargo security, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work overtime, extended hours, and flexible schedules.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A commercial motor vehicles, including tractor-trailers.
• Transport and deliver freight according to routes, schedules, and customer requirements.
• Perform required pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
• Load, secure, inspect, and protect cargo during transit.
• Follow DOT regulations, hours-of-service requirements, and safety rules.
• Maintain logs, delivery documents, bills of lading, and inspection reports.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding routes, delays, and vehicle issues.
• Maneuver vehicles at loading docks, yards, and customer locations.
• Report accidents, safety violations, and cargo damage promptly.
• Maintain a clean and professional vehicle and work area.
• Provide courteous and professional service to customers and partners.
• Assist with loading/unloading freight when required.
