Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license required.
• Current DOT medical certification required.
• LTL/City driving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and transportation compliance.
• Ability to safely operate tractors and commercial motor vehicles in varied conditions.
• Ability to accurately complete logs, bills of lading, inspection reports, and transportation records.
• Strong customer service, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong focus on safety, cargo security, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently and with limited supervision, including overtime.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class A commercial motor vehicles, including tractor-trailers.
• Transport and deliver freight according to routes, schedules, and customer requirements.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Load, secure, inspect, and protect cargo during transit.
• Follow DOT regulations, hours-of-service, traffic laws, and company policies.
• Maintain logs, delivery documents, bills of lading, and inspection reports.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding routes, delays, deliveries, and vehicle issues.
• Maneuver vehicles at loading docks, yards, and customer locations.
• Report accidents, violations, mechanical problems, and unsafe conditions.
• Maintain a clean, professional vehicle and work area.
• Provide courteous service to customers and partners.
• Assist with loading and unloading freight when required.
