Job summary

QXO is seeking a CDL Class A driver to safely transport building materials and equipment to customer sites. You will perform loading, securing, and verification tasks while maintaining DOT/FMCSA compliance and safety standards.

The role emphasizes safety-focused operations, professional customer interactions, and accurate documentation. Field-based with flexible schedules, candidates should have 1–2 years driving experience and a valid CDL A license.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and safe driving practices.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently while managing daily delivery schedules.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid CDL Class A license in good standing.
• Minimum 1–2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
• Experience operating flatbed trucks, tractor-trailers, manual transmissions, or oversized load vehicles preferred.
• Forklift experience (Moffett preferred) or ability to operate material handling equipment is a plus.
• Experience delivering building materials, construction products, trusses, wall panels, steel, rebar, roofing, or similar products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport building materials, products, and equipment to customer locations according to routes and schedules.
• Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections per DOT/FMCSA regulations and company policies.
• Plan delivery routes while accounting for traffic, weather, road restrictions, and jobsite accessibility.
• Maintain regular communication with dispatch regarding departure, arrival, delays, route changes, and delivery status.
• Obtain customer signatures, delivery confirmations, and required documentation upon delivery.
• Represent QXO professionally during all customer interactions.
• Verify load accuracy and inspect materials prior to departure.
• Safely load, secure, and transport materials using proper load securement methods.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials while following safe lifting practices.
• Perform touch-freight duties and document discrepancies or damaged products.
• Deliver exceptional customer service during each delivery.
