Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands, Inc. is seeking a daytime Driver to transport and deliver building materials across dealers, distribution centers, and construction sites using a tractor-trailer. The role emphasizes safety, on‑time delivery, and high‑quality customer service.

Requires a valid Class A CDL, clean driving record, and 2+ years of commercial driving experience. Occasional weekends and flexible hours may be required, with base pay starting at $35.00 per hour in Shelbyville, IN.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Class A CDL and maintain clean driving record.
• Requires at least 2 years of commercial truck driving experience.
• Willingness to tarp loads and use a trailer mounted forklift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to work independently or within a team and manage time effectively.
• May require occasional weekend work and flexible hours.
• Experience with DOT regulations and safety procedures is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver building materials to dealers, distribution centers, and job sites using a tractor-trailer.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections

Job description

JOB DETAILS

Base pay starts at $35.00 per hour

Shift: Day Shift, full time

This position sits within our Fortify Building Solutions business, which serves the pre-engineered metal buildings, metal roof and wall systems, and steel building components industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to our dealers, distribution centers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top‑note customer service. This is a hands‑on OTR delivery driving position some Saturdays may be required based on business needs.

• Perform pre & post-trip inspections thoroughly
• Maintain cleanliness and integrity of vehicle and equipment
• Immediately report any necessary repairs and/or maintenance needed
• Actively ensure compliance with DOT guidelines
• Load and unload truck using a Manitou or Moffett
• Verify entire content loads prior to leaving manufacturing facility or job site
• Follow all safety procedures for transporting goods
• Occasional Weekend work
• Flexible work hours
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• 2 years commercial truck driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
• Clean driving record
• Willing to tarp using Conestoga XP Roll Tarp Systems and strap flatbed loads
• Operate trailer mounted forklift
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Multi-drop delivery experience a plus
• Ability to work independently or with a team
• Ability to plan and manage time efficiently
• Ability to work safely throughout the day and prevent unsafe conditions
