Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Safety- conscious CDL-B driver based in Connecticut for pick-up and delivery between service centers and customers. The role requires handling freight, performing pre-trip inspections, and maintaining accurate paperwork in a multi-temperature environment.

Candidates must hold a valid CDL-B with HazMat endorsements, have at least 1 year of relevant experience or complete FedEx Driver Development, and be able to lift up to 100 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid CDL-B with Hazmat and Tank endorsements.* Automatic transmission CDL restriction allowed.
• At least 1 year of straight truck or similar vehicle experience in the last 3 years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Must be 21+ years old.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Must have acceptable MVR per hiring standards.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds and handle loading/unloading duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate straight trucks and meet delivery schedules while providing professional customer service.
• Secure freight for pickup/delivery using pallets, straps, and rope.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any issues.
• Maintain required documentation and reports; collect freight charges as needed.
• Load or assist with loading/unloading; assist with freight handling equipment.
