Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is hiring a CDL‑B rated driver in the United States. The role involves pick-up and delivery between service centers and customers, with manual lifting in a multi-temperature environment.

You will perform inspections, secure freight, assist in loading/unloading, and ensure on-time deliveries while upholding safety and DOT regulations. The job requires 21+ years old, an MVR meeting standards, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must have valid CDL-Class B; hazmat and tank endorsements required*. Automatic transmission CDL restriction allowed.
• Must possess one (1) year experience in a straight truck or similar sized vehicle within the last three years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course
• Must be twenty-one (21) years old
• Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
• Must possess acceptable MVR based on hiring standards
• Ability to lift/carry up to 100 pounds
• Ability to read and understand route schedules
• Ability to sit for extended periods and work independently or as a team

Responsibilities

• Operate straight trucks.
• Meet delivery schedules with professional customer service.
• Secure freight for pick-up and delivery.
• Perform daily pre-trip/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with dispatch about delays and issues.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Load/unload freight and assist as needed.
• Operate freight handling equipment (forklift, pallet jack).
• Comply with hazardous material regulations and DOT placarding.
