Job summary

LRS is seeking a Lead Driver to join our waste disposal operations in Indiana. You will supervise a team of drivers, coordinate routes, and ensure safety and compliance while delivering excellent service to customers.

The role requires a valid Class B CDL, ability to drive manual transmission, DOT medical card, and clean driving record. You will report to the Operations Supervisor and help optimize routes and train new drivers.

Qualifications

Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have a valid Class B CDL.
Ability to drive manual transmission or willingness to learn.
Must have a valid DOT medical card.
No DUI/OVI within past 5 years (or 2 in 10 years).
No license suspensions in last 2 years.
No more than 3 moving violations in last 2 years.
Must pass pre-employment testing.
Ability to read and speak English well.

Responsibilities

The Swing driver is responsible for servicing customer accounts dispatched to him/her throughout the day.
Collects and hauls waste, recycling materials or containers to a disposal site or recycling plant as directed by dispatch.
Operate vehicle in accordance with safety and DOT regulations; perform pre- and post-trip inspections and document checks.
Maintain driver logs and communicate with Route Manager/Dispatch about service interruptions or safety concerns.
Lead Driver responsibilities include coordinating and leading a team of drivers, scheduling routes, onboarding and training new drivers, and improving route efficiency.
