Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Relief Driver CDL (B) to safely operate a collection truck and provide prompt waste removal for customers. You will ensure vehicle compliance with safety standards and complete daily VCRs to document issues.

You will inspect, load, and service routes, interact with customers, and maintain productivity while adhering to safety policies and company procedures. Experience with commercial trucks is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation vehicle inspections to ensure tire pressure, fluids, safety equipment, gauges and controls are in proper order.
• Safely operate the heavy truck along the designated route and service each customer as directed.
• Load refuse using manual/automatic controls and dispose at the facility per safety policies.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and staff daily.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them per procedures.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material and report issues.
• Clean areas around spills following safety standards.
• Keep the vehicle in good condition to minimize downtime; clear waste from packer as needed.
• Complete route/productivity reports and required documents.
• Maintain productivity standards to ensure timely service for customers.
• Follow all safety policies and participate in ReSOP program.
