Job summary

WeDriveU in Burlington, NC is hiring a Transit Driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for passengers, including seniors and people with disabilities. You will operate a range of vehicles, ensure on-time performance, and assist with boarding and disembarking when needed.

This full-time, permanent role offers comprehensive benefits and requires a CDL B with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements, with extensive safety training provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and possess valid state CDL B with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements.
• Must meet physical and medical requirements and pass substance screening.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and assist passengers.
• Extensive knowledge of traffic rules and defensive driving.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe and reliable transportation service to passengers by operating position specific vehicles.
• Reports maintenance issues and unsafe conditions to Maintenance.
• Maintains on-time departures and routes.
• Assists passengers in evacuation during emergencies when needed.
• Keeps vehicle clean and presentable; maintains professional appearance.
• Completes required paperwork promptly and accurately.
• Promotes company goodwill and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors and customers.
