Job summary

Republic Services in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Driver – CDL (A) to safely operate heavy trucks for the delivery and removal of large containers. You will ensure vehicle safety, comply with all safety standards, and complete daily vehicle condition reports.

The role emphasizes courteous customer interactions, route discipline, and basic container maintenance. A Class A CDL with air brakes and at least two years of trucking experience are preferred; the position includes comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Two years of prior experience driving commercial trucks preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude to perform minor repairs to containers.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle according to policy.
• Safely operate heavy truck along designated route and service each customer.
• Operate controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of material at disposal site.
• Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers and others on a daily basis.
• Perform minor repairs to containers on site or in the container yard.
• Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers as required.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable waste.
• Complete route/productivity sheets and reports as required.
