Job summary

American Driver LLC in Richland, MS is seeking newly licensed CDL-A drivers for OTR dry van seats. Trainees earn $650/week during 3–5 weeks of mentor training and a $1,000 weekly guarantee for the first 3 solo months, then $1,200–$1,800 weekly on average.

You’ll be out two weeks and home every other week, with a truck assigned to you. Loads are dry van, with a mix of drop-and-hook, preloads, and live loads; Northeast runs are excluded.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL-A valid for the seat.
• 21+ years old and eligible for DOT.
• New grad or 6 months of recent experience; no more than 2 moving violations in 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Mentor training for 3–5 weeks at $650/week.

Job description

We're hiring newly licensed CDL-A drivers in Richland, Florence and Rankin County for an OTR dry van seat. You make $650 a week while you train. Solo pay averages $1,200 to $1,800 a week, and you're home every other week.

Not every seat fits every driver. Read the two lists and decide.

This seat fits you if:

• You have your Class A and need someone to give you the first shot
• You want to be paid while you learn
• You're OK being out for two weeks and then home
• You want a truck that's yours, not shared
• You want 1,800 to 2,900 miles a week once you're solo

This seat isn't for you if:

• You need to be home every night
• You're not willing to work some weekends
• You want Northeast runs. These loads stay from Denver east, outside the Northeast.

If it fits, here's what you get

• 3 to 5 weeks (200–250 hours) of mentor training at $650 a week
• A $1,000 weekly guarantee for your first 3 solo months
• $1,200–$1,800 average weekly pay after that
• $15 per extra stop, $75 plus miles on short hauls
• A monthly performance bonus
• $300 for orientation (two days or less, hotel covered, bus fare reimbursed)
• An assigned truck, about 1.5 years old on average

Freight is dry van, a mix of drop and hook, preloads and live loads. Holiday runs are voluntary.

After 30 days:

medical, dental, vision and prescriptions, a 401(k), stock purchase, employee assistance and a free online degree for you plus one dependent. Riders allowed. One dog under 40 lbs once training ends.

You'll need:

to be 21+ with a CDL-A, a new grad or 6 months of recent experience, no more than 2 moving violations in 2 years, no DUI/DWI in 10 years, and a passed DOT physical and hair/urine screen.
