Job summary

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A CDL with double/triple, hazmat and tank endorsements.
• One year experience within the last three years or completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• MVR must meet hiring standards and DOT regulations.
• Endorsements and license requirements apply for LCV where indicated.
• Ability to count and perform basic math; good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combination and related equipment.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and dollies as needed.
• Handle freight with equipment like forklift or pallet jack.
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, and rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Comply with hazmat regulations and procedures.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers about pickups, deliveries, and delays.
• Solicit additional business and provide leads to sales.
