Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a CDL driver to pick up and deliver freight between service centers and customers. You will perform pre-trip inspections, secure loads, and communicate with dispatch and customers to ensure timely service.

The role requires a Class A CDL with hazmat/tank endorsements and a valid MVR. LCV qualifications are required for certain states; responsibilities include safety, documentation, and potential sales lead generation.

Qualifications

• Must possess a class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with double/triple, hazardous materials and tank endorsements; Automatic transmission CDL restriction allowed.
• Must possess one (1) year experience within most recent three (3) years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course
• Must possess acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
• Must meet all DOT regulatory requirements under FMC regulations
• Long combination vehicles (LCV) qualifications for listed states

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer and/or straight trucks to pick up and deliver freight.
• Perform daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Secure freight inside trailers using pallets, straps, and ropes.
• Verify and complete required documentation and reports.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding pickups and deliveries.
• May provide leads to sales for new opportunities
• May perform chaining of vehicle tires
• May perform job duties of road driver or dock employee as needed
