Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee hauling operations and driver assignments at a DFA terminal. You will develop safe, efficient plans, monitor daily operations, and collaborate with dispatch, drivers, and customers to meet service goals.

You will manage schedules, payroll, and overtime while ensuring DOT/PMO/OSHA compliance; lead safety initiatives and coordinate with HR and maintenance teams to optimize performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's preferred.
• CDL A license required or obtainable within 180 days.
• Tank endorsement and doubles/triples endorsements needed or obtainable.
• 5 years distribution/logistics experience, including lead responsibilities.
• Knowledge of dairy production practices and DOT/PMO/OSHA rules.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and company systems.
• Strong supervision, training, and personnel management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute hauling plan by assigning drivers and equipment.
• Manage schedules, payroll/timekeeping, overtime, and goals.
• Coordinate with DFA locations to reconfigure driver assignments.
• Build relationships with producers to ensure optimal service.
• Oversee milk sampling process and lab shipments.
• Ensure daily paperwork is scanned and filed per retention rules.
• Train and coach employees; conduct driver safety audits and compliance.
• Promote safety culture; investigate incidents with safety personnel.
• Collaborate with HR for recruitment, discipline, and training.
• Coordinate maintenance with maintenance leadership.
• Be available for emergencies; participate in on-call rotations.
• Adhere to GMP, safety policies; report nonconformities.
