Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America seeks an experienced tractor-trailer driver to transport products between plants and branches. You will comply with DOT and DFA safety rules, verify shipments, and handle documentation with handheld devices or paper.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, vehicle inspections, and timely reporting of delays, while maintaining equipment and representing DFA professionally in all customer interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years' tractor-trailer driving experience in last 5 years preferred.
• Must meet DFA Motor Vehicle Records and all DOT requirements.
• Valid Class A CDL with Air Brake endorsement; doubles endorsement may be required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations and policies adhering to all safety practices.
• Verify shipment accuracy and ensure saleable condition of product.
• Transact proper documentation in computerized hand-held device or paper.
• Load/unload trucks.
• Resolve discrepancies and communicate issues to supervisor.
• Report delivery delays to management due to road conditions, accidents or breakdowns.
• Inspect equipment according to company and DOT regulations (tractor, trailer, pallet jack, load bars, lift gates).
• Complete daily DOT and customer paperwork including delivery tickets, pre and post trip inspections, driver logs, and vehicle service reports.
• Ensure and/or perform proper maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment; maintain a clean vehicle.
• Stock and/or rotate product in warehouse where required.
• Attend all driver workshops and training sessions.
• Represent DFA positively and professionally at all times during interactions with customers or other individuals.
